Diego Barboza 1945 - 2003
Venezuelan Neo Figurative Painter, opened a new chapter beyond surreal or magical realism among Modern Latin American Masters. Making his own dislocation and transgression he became an influential key figure in art history. His painted characters and imagery of distorted exaggerated forms created a world of illusions through fractured outlines and eruptive brushstrokes. In 1970 Barboza he created 4 Conceptual Art performances in London becoming one of the Latinoamerican pioneers on this artistic movement.
